How are fillers used?

Face and lip fillers; Local anesthesia injection or Emla cream is easily and painlessly applied to the skin for use in a practice.

What is the most commonly used filler?

Hyaluronic acid is the most commonly used filler and a sugar substance in all living organisms. Human skin also contains intense hyaluronic acid. The basic building block of subcutaneous support tissue is hyaluronic acid. Since it is a water-retaining substance, such as a sponge, it has properties such as volume formation, moistening and cell renewal. As the hyaluronic acid in our skin decreases over the years, the skin loses its vitality with increasing age, in particular your facial and lip areas become dull, wrinkled and begin to become limp.

The amount of hyaluronic acid in the skin decreases approximately in half by the age of 50. This situation is mostly; Chronic sun-exposed areas such as the face, neck, décolleté and hand. Hyaluronic acid is used safely in medicine for intra-articular and intra-ocular treatments. It is a commonly used substance in wrinkle treatment in aesthetic applications. Fillings that contain hyaluronic acid do not contain any animal substances or toxins. Therefore, there is no risk of infection from other living things and they do not cause allergies.

What are the properties of temporary fillers?

  • They are less expensive than permanent fillings
  • They can be permanent for 6 months, a year or a year and a half

What are the properties of permanent filler?

  • They do not lose their effect over time on the areas where it has been applied
  • No additional surgery is required as there are ready-made materials
  • If an undesirable effect occurs, it is also permanent
  • If tissue tolerance is not good, stiffness can occur in the tissue
  • Surgical cleaning of the tissue is very difficult or impossible
  • The risk of allergic reactions is higher than with temporary fillings
  • It is more expensive than temporary fillings

What should the ideal filler be like?

  • It shouldn’t show an allergic reaction
  • Should remain in the area applied
  • It should be easy to use
  • It shouldn’t poison
  • Should not produce hard masses in the tissue
  • The effect should last as long as possible
  • The result should be predictable

How long does the effect of the filling last?

The shelf life of the filler is influenced by many factors, such as age of the person, skin structure,  skin elasticity, area of application,  structure, amount and the quality of the injected filler. However, the effects of fillers containing hyaluronic acid last up to a year. Sometimes an additional application may be required to get results depending on the severity of the wrinkles.

What does filling retouching mean?

Positive results are achieved after a single filling. Because temporary fillers are absorbed by the body, they continue to work for a certain period of time. This effect lasts for a maximum of 12 months. In order to maintain the effect of the treatment, many patients are retouched with less effort before the effect of the filler has completely disappeared.

Where are fillers used?

Fillers are used in almost every area of the face. The most commonly used area is the lip area because the fullness of the lips is an important factor in making the face look beautiful and lively. The most common places on the face after the lips are each; under the eyes and around the eyes, the tear grooves that extend from the corner of the nose to the corners of the lips, wrinkles under the lips, the edges of the chin and cheekbones. Apart from the face, it is applied very heavily on the back of the hand. Sometimes it can also be used for buttocks and leg shaping.

Do botox and fillers have the same effect?

Fillers and botox are completely different substances. Botox is a serum that treats wrinkles by preventing the muscles from working. Fillings, on the other hand, serve to fill sagging skin and grooves and thus to treat them.
